SyferLock Technology Corporation today announced the availability of its superior GridSoftToken two-factor authentication solution for use on the BlackBerry mobile platform. SyferLock’s GridSoftToken solution for BlackBerry is available for deployment from BlackBerry World.

SyferLock’s GridSoftToken two-factor authentication solution now offers BlackBerry users the ability to use their mobile device as a second factor of authentication to access SyferLock GridGuard protected systems. With this release, GridSoftToken is now available for the BlackBerry, Windows, iOS and Android mobile platforms. SyferLock’s GridSoftToken provides a practical, portable, true 2 factor authentication solution which does not require the user to carry any additional hardware other than their mobile device. To deploy GridSoftToken for BlackBerry, go to BlackBerry World.

In addition to 2-factor device authentication, SyferLock’s GridSoftToken delivers a much higher level of user authentication. With SyferLock’s GridSoftToken, the one-time password is not presented to the user "in the clear". Only the authorised user who has knowledge of the pre-selected PIN and target position can generate the one-time password, or GridCode, required for secure log-in using SyferLock’s patented methodology. With traditional soft tokens, anyone possessing access to the computer or device can read and then input the code for authentication. Lost devices and attempts for unauthorised computer use are further protected by this unique aspect of SyferLock’s GridSoftToken.

"We are pleased to continue to expand the mobile platforms that SyferLock’s GridSoftToken readily integrates with. With the addition of the BlackBerry, SyferLock’s GridSoftToken two-factor authentication solution is now available for all major mobile platforms," stated Chris Cardell, CEO of SyferLock. "GridSoftToken provides superior two-factor authentication without the user needing to carry any additional hardware or devices. SyferLock’s patented software-based authentication solutions provide a secure, cost-effective alternative to hard tokens and other authentication solutions," added Cardell.

SyferLock’s software-based solutions deliver two-factor and multi-factor authentication utilising patented software-based grids to convert static passwords/PINs into secure one-time passwords or PINs ("OTPs"). SyferLock’s solutions provide device-less OTPs, offering a simple, more secure way to access information while leveraging existing passwords and password infrastructure. SyferLock’s flexible, adaptable solutions enable enterprises to cost-effectively address strong authentication / two-factor authentication across a range of use cases and with a range of platforms. SyferLock’s flexible methodology is easy to deploy, is user friendly and is available in a High-Availability (HA) cluster. SyferLock is market validated with a growing customer list and a number of awards from independent research firms and industry publications.
